Position Overview: The Corporate/Commercial Credit Associate will support the credit analysis and portfolio management functions within the corporate or commercial division. This role involves evaluating the creditworthiness of clients, monitoring financial trends, assisting in the management of credit risk and interacting with clients and advising them on findings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Credit Analysis: Conduct detailed financial, operational, and industry analyses to assess the creditworthiness of clients. Prepare credit reports and risk assessments.
- Portfolio Management: Assist in managing a portfolio of commercial or corporate clients, including monitoring financial trends, compliance, and loan performance.
- Due Diligence: Participate in due diligence processes for new and existing clients, including evaluating financial statements, collateral, and other relevant documents.
- Credit Reviews: Prepare and present comprehensive credit reviews and underwriting memorandums to senior management and credit committees.
- Risk Monitoring: Monitor and report on key risk factors, including leverage, cash flow, and repayment capacity. Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements.
- Client Interaction: Maintain regular contact with clients to gather financial information, discuss credit needs, and address any concerns or issues.
- Documentation: Review and ensure the accuracy of loan agreements and other legal documents related to credit exposures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in credit analysis, commercial banking, consulting or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and financial modeling tools.
- Knowledge of commercial credit policies and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
