Position Summary:
The Director of Capital Formation will be responsible for developing and executing the firm's capital raising strategy. This individual will lead investor relations, cultivate new capital sources, and strengthen relationships with existing investors. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of real estate investments, a strong network within the institutional and private wealth channels, and a proven track record of successful fundraising.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all capital formation initiatives, including fundraises, joint ventures, co-investments, and separate accounts.
- Develop and execute capital raising strategies targeting institutional investors, family offices, RIAs, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Manage investor relations, ensuring consistent communication and transparency with current and prospective investors.
- Collaborate closely with executive leadership, acquisitions, and asset management teams to align capital strategies with firm objectives.
- Prepare and present investment materials, including pitch decks, investor reports, offering memorandums, and due diligence materials.
- Identify and attend key industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to expand the firm's investor base.
- Stay abreast of market trends, investor preferences, and competitor strategies to inform fundraising efforts.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in capital formation, investor relations, or fundraising within real estate private equity, private credit, or alternative investments.
- Established relationships with institutional investors, family offices, and private wealth platforms.
- Strong understanding of real estate investment strategies, capital markets, and financial structuring.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Proven track record of successfully raising capital across various channels.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- Based in (or willing to relocate to) Charlotte, NC.
