Our client, a leading global trading firm, is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join their team in London. This position involves close collaboration with the equities desk, where you will work alongside top traders, quants, and software engineers daily. As an SRE, you will have the opportunity to enhance core trading applications using advanced technologies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in Computer Science or a related field from a top-tier institution, along with 5+ years of experience in either the financial sector or within major tech companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the configuration of multiple production environments.
- Optimise system uptime, capacity, and performance for trading platforms.
- Diagnose and resolve critical production issues, including incident tracking, analysis, and reporting.
- Develop automation and processes to minimize errors and eliminate recurring issues.
- Refine software designs to prevent system failures and enhance other components of the stack.
- Maintain effective communication with traders, business managers, and development leads on project progress.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience with UNIX/Linux and troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
- Proficiency in high-level scripting or object-oriented programming languages such as Python.
- Experience writing SQL queries in MS SQL Server or other major SQL database platforms.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, SDLC processes, testing methodologies, and test tools.
- Proven track record in building, deploying, and supporting large-scale distributed systems.
