A top NY based hedge-fund is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their Portfolio and Risk team. Recently the team has undertaken a project where they're looking to rebuild the existing risk platform which will change the way the company calculates risk across several business lines. In this team you will work closely with Senior Risk Managers, and Researchers alike to develop live market data calculations, and recalculate instrument pricing. The significance of the project gives it direct oversight by the firm's CTO, making this opportunity high impact, and high visibility. The chosen candidate is likely someone who has experience building robust risk systems and is looking to step into a larger Leadership role, with more responsibility for delivery and exposure to the investment lifecycle.
The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible forโฆ
- Collaborating with Senior Risk Manager, leading projects, and embarking on the expansion of the real-time risk platform
- Understanding the investment strategy and models used by the business in order to better build technology
- Leveraging Risk experience, engineering experience, and financial domain knowledge to build quantitative solutions to business problems
The Senior Engineer should have the following qualificationsโฆ
- 7+ years of experience working with Python
- Experience building robust risk systems
- Understanding of the investment lifecycle as it relates to data ingestion, research, risk modeling, and trade execution
- Bachelor, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or related STEM field
