Position Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced and talented Quantitative Trader with a strong background in the commodities/energy sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing quantitative trading strategies, leveraging advanced analytical techniques to maximize profitability and manage risks. This is a fully on-site position in Amsterdam, offering the opportunity to be at the forefront of the renewable energy trading market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quantitative trading strategies in the renewable energy commodities market.
- Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trading opportunities and develop actionable insights.
- Utilize advanced statistical and mathematical models to support trading decisions and optimize portfolio performance.
- Monitor and analyze trading performance, adjusting strategies as necessary to improve outcomes.
- Collaborate with other traders, quantitative analysts, and risk managers to share insights and optimize trading operations.
- Continuously research and stay updated on market trends, new trading techniques, and regulatory changes in the energy sector.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantitative Trader in the commodities/energy sector.
- Deep understanding of renewable energy markets and trading practices.
- Proficiency in developing and executing quantitative trading strategies.
- Strong programming skills, particularly in languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB, and experience with relevant data analysis tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of managing and analyzing large datasets.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- A degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Finance. Advanced degrees (Master's or Ph.D.) are preferred but not required.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence applications in trading.
- Familiarity with financial instruments and derivatives used in energy markets.
- Knowledge of trading platforms and risk management systems in the energy sector.
