Actuarial Role
Reports to: AVP, Corporate Actuary
Overview:
My client is seeking an actuary to support their projections function, playing a crucial role in their growth strategy for retail and reinsurance businesses.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Projections: Develop and support financial projections.
- Earnings Analysis: Analyze and explain earnings drivers.
- Financial Planning: Assist with quarterly forecasts.
- Process Improvement: Enhance processes and analytics with a focus on controls.
- Collaboration: Work with operations, pricing, and finance teams for accurate reporting.
- Project Support: Assist with new product and acquisition projects.
- Industry Awareness: Stay updated on industry trends and regulations.
- Special Projects: Collaborate on special projects as needed.
Requirements:
- Certification: Associate of the Society of Actuaries
- Experience: At least 3 years in actuarial roles
- Knowledge: Familiarity with US Statutory, US GAAP, and Bermuda EBS frameworks
- Skills:
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Results-driven with the ability to meet objectives
- Motivated and able to work independently or in teams
- Technical and analytical proficiency, especially with large data sets
- Experience with GGY Axis or similar actuarial modeling systems
- Proficiency in R, Python, or similar programming languages
- Team-oriented and collaborative
