We are working with a commodities prop trading firm that is looking to bring on a Global Crude Oil Analyst to join the Crude Oil Trading Desk. The desk is trading Global Crude financial derivatives (futures and options) and is looking to add someone that can come in and work with Crude fundamentals in a quantitative setting to develop trade recommendations for the desk. This is a rare opportunity to join a growing trading firm and contribute directly to the full trade life-cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Build dynamic Supply and Demand balances/models for global crude oil (Brent, WTI)
- Develop fundamentally driven models for global crude oil price forecasting across a variety of markets to be used for derivative trade recommendations
- Interface daily with traders and develop ad-hoc tooling/models based on traders' requests
- Keep up to date with macroeconomic factors and regulatory changes that effect the crude oil market
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience building global S&D balances on a crude oil trading desk, with an emphasis on Brent exposure
- Experience using fundamentals to build dynamic models related to price forecasting to develop derivative trade recommendations in the global crude markets
- Ability to work with large data sets to build various models and tools, data analysis experience using Python
