Job Summary: We are seeking an energetic and proactive Data Sourcing Specialist to join our Data Strategy and Analytics team at a leading hedge fund in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing data from various vendors, liaising with internal teams to understand their data needs, and engaging with new data providers to ensure we have the necessary data sets for our business operations. This role requires frequent travel and a deep understanding of business data requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and acquire data from external vendors to meet the needs of the Data Strategy and Analytics team.
- Liaise with internal teams to understand their data requirements and ensure these are met.
- Engage with new data providers to understand their offerings and negotiate data acquisition.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing data vendors.
- Identify and evaluate new data sources and providers, including emerging data trends and technologies.
- Ensure data quality and integrity by working closely with data vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Travel as required to meet with data providers and attend industry events.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in data sourcing, preferably within a data vendor or Hedge Fund environment.
- Strong understanding of business data requirements and where to source relevant data sets.
- Experience with data providers.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Energetic and proactive approach to work.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the financial services industry.
- Familiarity with data sourcing teams within investment funds.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
