Title: Actuarial Specialist, Reinsurance Pricing
Location: Chicagoland, IL OR New Haven County, CT
Responsibilities:
- Conduct economic analyses at the treaty level
- Identify, quantify, and determine risk & expense elements
- Determines appropriate returns to support each treaty's risk profile
- Manage the Book of Business and track profitability using the quarterly reserve process, communicating results to relevant parties
- Identify trends and provide recommendation to leadership
- Help to implement & monitoring strategic direction
- Pulls data, analyzes information, and makes suggestions
- Showcase and explain pricing analysis in Round-table decision-making process
- Collaborates with cross functional teams to develop new & improve existing tools
- Create plans for new products or improvements to existing products
- Gives an economic view of reinsurance purchase options and best course of action
- Estimates and suggests loss reserves
- Create reports measuring rate action and its impact
- Create & monitor capital allocation model to measure risk-adjusted performance
- Determines rates & create rate-making templates while supporting state-by-state rate filings
- Pull data, analyzes information & give recommendations
- Ability to interpret and translate data for internal teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field
- 2+ years of Actuarial experience
- 4+ exams passed towards ACAS
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to build and maintain relationships
- Ability to work within EXCEL VBA, SQL or Python preferred
- Reinsurance experience preferred
